King Kong
Movie Review by MNF Model Lanore

I recently had the opportunity to see the movie
King Kong for the first time. I can honestly say
I had no idea what I was in for. The thought of
going to see a movie about a 25 foot tall, eight
thousand pound gorilla who's in love with a
woman the size of a Barbie Doll did not make
much sense to me. To say the least I had to be talked into it.  Boy, was I in for a surprise...a pleasant one I must say! This movie was shockingly good. I loved it, who knew?  I experienced every emotion you could imagine, from joy and laughter to fear and sadness. This movie has it all and is a must see! It was directed by Peter Jackson who is famous for the Oscar winning Trilogy The Lord of The Rings. He may be up for another award again for his masterful direction of this film.  Naomi Watts and Jack Black are believable characters that you root for.  King Kong himself actually looks and acts like a real gorilla. It's hard to believe that he's not. This film is three hours long but the story is paced well and the second half is nail biting!  It keeps you on the edge of your seat. I won't fail to mention the special effects...they're spectacular!  They're some of the best I've ever seen. There is a pole vaulting scene that will knock you back in your seat not to mention who's doing the pole vaulting. Finally, this film is really about a love story.  It's all about a 25 foot, 8,000 pound gorilla and his Barbie Doll and it's quite believable.  I give this movie 2 MNF Thumbs up....WAY UP!
